Kyle Rusten and his daughter, Hannah, share a special moment at Gateway Science Museum in Chico. Hannah loves animals and playing with bugs; getting to hold the stick bugs at the museum is a favorite (and fascinating) activity. She also enjoys the museum’s interactive exhibits, especially when she gets to push buttons. Hannah is learning to swim and loves princesses and the color pink.
Tiffany and Tom Barker with their sons Gavin, 13, and Hunter, 3, and their friend Isla, 7. The Barkers enjoy growing vegetables and preparing foods from their garden together as a family. They also like spending time golfing, snow skiing and hiking, and operate W. S. Heitman Drilling & Pumps, bringing precious water to residents, businesses & farmers all over the North State. Isla is a farm market attendee and loves growing flowers.
How does a dad parent five beautiful daughters? “With patience, laughter, and by helping each daughter perfect her own interests,” says Edward Tait, owner of Prime Martial Arts in Redding. Shown left to right, the girls with their dad: Alexis, age 14, loves cheerleading; Ava, age 10, plays drums; Amariah, age 8, is a tap dancer; Allison, age 12, enjoys cooking; and Aliah, age 15, loves taekwondo. All five girls are active in their church and participate in taekwondo and other activities.
