Butte County’s Evan Enserro, 11, and Samantha Heil, 12, love BMX riding. Both race locally as well as travel for state and national races. Samantha rides for Nemesis BMX Race Team, and Evan rides for J.E.T. Racing. Evan also enjoys playing lacrosse, and Samantha enjoys playing flag football.

Tiffany Hagemeier and her 9-year-old son, Trenton, enjoy outdoor activities together like fishing, boating and stand up paddle boarding on Lake Shasta. Tiffany and her husband, Jerry, moved to the area seven years ago. They reside in Palo Cedro and couldn’t be happier with the small community. Trenton attends North Cow Creek School, where he’s entering fourth grade. Life in Shasta County affords the family of three the opportunity to partake in all of their favorite activities, especially Giants baseball.

The girls are in a fort built by the center’s Camp Chico Creek participants; it’s one of their favorite places to visit in beautiful Bidwell Park. Chico Creek Nature Center provides youth education in the natural sciences through engaging hands-on experiences.
