NORTH STATE PARENT FAMILY RESOURCE GUIDE SPRING/SUMMER 2022 MUSEUMS & HISTORICAL SITES
       CHICO CHILDRENS’ MUSEUM
Chico Children’s Museum has lot of exciting things going on this summer, such as the new slide that’s part of our very popular space exhibit. Dr. Palmer’s Pediatric Dentistry is the generous sponsor for this fun, interactive slide, which was custom built by Melton Design.
When you’re here, take a minute to stop by and introduce yourself to Milta Aguilar, our new Director of Operations. Milta is a former preschool teacher and business owner and has volunteered at the Museum as a play docent, so she knows all about having fun while learning. She has a degree in social and behavioral science, and is a mom of two.
The spring and summer are great times to learn more about bees and how vital they are for healthy flowers and food. To get the learning started, the Museum is introducing a “sweet” new exhibit full of fun facts about bees in the North State. You can find out how to easily make a bee watering station and attract more of these busy pollinators all through the warm months.
Another exciting addition to the Museum family is a partnership with a popular local art teacher, Ama Posey. Ama is an artist and art educator based in Chico; and she also teaches classes in San Francisco. Ama’s new art studio is a shared space in the Museum and will host children’s art classes and camps. Check out her classes at the Museum on Instagram: @artcampfamily.
