 RECREATE RESPONSIBLY
AND BE FIRE SAFE
With the summer outdoor recreation season gearing up, the Bureau of Land Management reminds you that the public lands provide wide open spaces where you can get some much-needed exercise and boost for your spirits.
Please continue to do your part in keeping your lands protected from fire and free from litter or other impacts.
  HERE ARE SOME TIPS:
exclamation-square If you plan to camp, be sure you have a free campfire permit, available at readyforwildfire.org. Please follow any seasonal fire restrictions that might be in place.
exclamation-square Please be careful with your campfire, keeping it small and never leaving it unattended. Keep that shovel handy. Fully put out your fire with the douse and stir method: douse with water, stir with your shovel and feel with your hand to be sure everything is cold. Repeat if you have to.
exclamation-square While enjoying your public land trails and open space, please practice social distancing. If a trailhead is crowded, consider finding another less crowded option.
exclamation-square Some of our maintenance services may be limited, so please pack out your trash and leave your recreation site cleaner than you found it.
exclamation-square Check our website: blm.gov/office/ redding-field-office to be sure the places you want to visit are open. There are great links to individual sites to help you plan.
