The North State offers numerous special events for children and families during the month of April, including these three outstanding fun and educational fairs held annually in Chico, Redding and Red Bluff.
Entrance and participation is free, thanks to the caring efforts of numerous organizations, dozens of community volunteers, and generous local sponsorships.
Bring family and friends to explore, laugh and learn. Chances are you’ll take home ideas, information and inspiration – and marvelous memories too.
CHICO
Chico Children’s Faire
Sat., April 5, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Offers an array of child-focused educational fun that parents will enjoy too. All ages are welcome; activities and entertainment are geared for ages birth to 8 years, and include craft projects, face painting, a petting zoo, balloon animals, music, dance and juggling performances, and more. Meet local family-related businesses, agencies and child care providers – many have participated in the fair for over 30 years! Come by North State Parent’s booth & make a puppet. 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Free. Held at the downtown Chico City Plaza, Broadway & 4th Streets.
RED BLUFF
Children’s Fair of Tehama County
Sat., April 26, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Celebrates community, childhood, and the spirit of learning with a fun day of creating, exploring, music and entertainment. Geared for children of all ages, this 26th annual fair brings together families and local organizations that provide services for young children. REDDING
Whole Earth and Watershed Festival
Sat., April 26, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
An exciting, interactive and educational experience for the entire family, featuring over 115 exhibitors, giveaways, live music, food, art and activities for all ages. Special features include: Whole Earth Hustle 1-mile and 5-k race; Earth First Young Children’s Zone; youth Watershed Passport Program; fitness opportunities; Cart Art Contest and more.
