Mt. Shasta High School’s advanced drama class presents A Pirate’s Life for Me, a musical by Craig Sodaro with music and lyrics by Bill Francoer.
This fun-filled, energy-packed musical is produced by drama teacher Sue Villarreal, but the rest of the production has been a complete student effort. Students have created the choreography, built and painted the set, crafted the costumes, gathered the props, and have taken an active leadership role within the class.
It’s a swashbuckling comedy that may be the funniest pirate adventure yet. It features a cast of 32, including talented high school sophomores, juniors and seniors, and starring Maddy Green as Miss Sarah Huffington (aka the Pirate Queen) and Robby Palmer as Sir Roger Goodman (aka Captain Blood).
“I love being in this play – it’s really fun. I’m always laughing,” says sophomore Jessica Lujan, when asked how she was enjoying working on the production. “It’s silly, but it’s a good silly. If you want to laugh, this is a great play for you and all your friends!”
The show is suitable for all ages. Performances are April 7, 8, 9, 15 and 16 at 7 p.m. at Mt. Shasta High School’s Robert E. Novo gymnasium. General admission is $8/adults, $5/child and senior citizens and free for ages 5 and under.
A Pirate’s Life for Me is a high-energy musical that will set your toes to tapping! Come dressed as a pirate and get $1 off your admission. Huzzah!
