Dear Readers,
North State Parent magazine’s comprehensive Family Resource Guide is the premier source for everything and anything of interest to parents, families, educators and others who care about children in the North State. With listings for everything from Arts to Youth and Teens and articles focused on providing the best information on parenting and education to help build strong, thriving communities, our Family Resource Guides are indispensable!
How do we put this enormous, all-inclusive, wide-ranging publication together twice a year? It all starts with the listings. Over the past 30+ years, we have gathered listings in 18 categories through research and submissions from readers, local businesses and orgs. Before we publish, our staff combs through every single listing to make sure it is up-to-date and correct. And we are adding new listings right up to the print deadline, to make sure the Family Resource Guide is as complete and comprehensive as possible.
There are often more than 25 articles and features in each Family Resource Guide. To get the best, most current, useful and informative articles, we start nearly a year in advance, planning editorial and commissioning local writers to pen articles that will contribute to the vibrancy of our local communities. We use as many local photos as possible (limiting our reliance on stock photos) to strengthen community connection.
Our local businesses and organizations are one of our greatest strengths. They keep our dollars invested here at home, provide friendly, personalized service and bolster our local economic base. We welcome them to advertise with North State Parent so readers throughout Butte, Glenn, Shasta, Siskiyou and Tehama counties can learn all these businesses and organizations have to offer and how they work to strengthen our communities and family related services. We keep our ad rates affordable and include many extras like social media exposure so even smaller businesses have an opportunity to grow by reaching our extensive readership online and in print.
Why do we work so hard to publish the Family Resource Guide twice a year? Because we are parents and grandparents; and building communities where families can thrive means everything to us!
