DESCRIPTION:Join us to celebrate 80 years since the State Theatre’s rebuild and 15 years in our community as the non-profit State Theatre for the Arts! Mastermind Bill Cornelius is behind this amazing celebration with “The Art of Aging Gracefully.”\n\n\nWe will be giving out FREE POPCORN\, and our local Baskin-Robbins is giving a FREE SCOOP OF ICE CREAM with every ticket sold!\n\n\nBased in Chico\, CA\, Decades is a high-energy cover band performing hits from the 1950s through today—from classics like “Runaround Sue” to modern favorites like “Uptown Funk.” Since 2010\, the band has played more than 1\,000 shows across the West Coast\, known for their four-part harmonies\, multiple instrument swaps\, and crowd-pleasing live performances. Their versatile setlist and energetic stage presence have made them one of California’s most in-demand live bands.

SUMMARY:Missoula Children’s Theatre – Red Riding Hood
DESCRIPTION:The Missoula Children’s Theatre presents Red Riding Hood\, an original adaptation of the classic children’s story.\n\nOver the river and through the woods to Grandmother’s house she goes. Red Riding Hood\, not so little anymore\, and her pre-teen pals try to stay on the straight and narrow. The Big Bad Wolf\, who is not so bad after all\, and a friendly neighborhood Forest Ranger urge our heroes to stay true to the path\, for in the Shadows lurk diversions and a sinister surprise or two. A pack of woefully nasty young wolves and a handsome Woodsman\, too good to be true\, are a must for our story. And we can’t have a wolf tale without Three Little Pigs and even a Boy Who Cries…you guessed it. With help from her family and a loyal young Locksmith (he carries the key)\, Red finds her Grandma and a whole lot more. Now if only she could retrieve her picnic basket from those rascally Raccoons. Life is no picnic when you stray from the trail!\nPerformances will be Saturday\, March 21\, at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Historic State Theatre in Red Bluff. \nPresented by the Missoula Children’s Theatre and hosted by the Tehama County Arts Council. \nTickets available at the door: $10 adults\, $5 students (6–18)\, free for ages 0–5.

SUMMARY:North State Symphony - Mendelssohn’s Scottish
DESCRIPTION:The season begins with a symphonic souvenir: “I think I have found there the beginning of my ‘Scottish’ Symphony\,” Mendelssohn wrote in 1829 after visiting the ruins of Edinburgh’s Holyrood Chapel. At once dramatic and lighthearted\, the resulting musical postcard is a vibrant journey from the mist to a sunny\, lively finale.  North State Symphony principal musicians Michelle Keem and James Pytko will be featured in the Duet Concertino by Richard Strauss\, his last purely instrumental work with a lean\, retrospective voice.  The concert opens with Rossini’s Overture to Italian in Algiers\, the comedic opera filled with an effervescent energy that thrusts the 21-year-old into operatic stardom.
