the shop you can see the old-fashioned 19th-century millstones used at this wonder- ful local mill and store. Turtle Bay Exploration Park; Redding. Turtle Bay Exploration Park is a fun, non-profit 300- acre gathering place featuring the Sundial Bridge, a museum, forestry and wildlife center, arboretum, and botanical gardens. The Park features attractions and education- al programs for all ages including animal shows, traveling exhibitions, towering play- grounds, indoor aquariums, an immersive Parrot Playhouse, and more. The Park also of- fers educational resources to the community including school field trips, Discovery Camps, teacher/classroom support, and Turtle Bay TV, a free distance-learning show. Wintu Museum & Cultural Resource Center; Shasta Lake City. A one-of-a-kind community project designed to provide a comprehensive im- mersion into the Wintu history & culture. Etna Museum; Etna. Located in the first town hall of Etna (built to resemble Philadelphia’s Independence Hall), which also housed the fire department, library and jail. See a vintage par- lor, 1890 farm kitchen, displays of tools, 1890s

Fort Jones Museum; Fort Jones. Dubbed the “Biggest Little Museum,” features hundreds of artifacts depicting the lives of local tribes, trappers, miners, pioneers and & soldiers. Heritage Junction Museum Of McCloud; McCloud. Located in a historic 1904 building, the museum offers an impressive collection of artifacts, including the giant Corliss steam engine that powered the McCloud sawmill from 1903-1979. Lava Beds National Monument; Tulelake. Visit the site of the largest concentration of lava tube caves in North America. Walk through a refurbished bank building built in 1906 that houses old City Hall records, a jail and a small library. The public can browse through the

Siskiyou County Museum; Yreka. The Siskiy- ou County Museum was built in 1950 by the County with the goal of preserving the history of the area for future generations.
