 Food
Summer parfaits are fun! We encourage you to create unique combinations of typical healthy breakfast fare. If you get into making these with your children, please share a photo of your tasty, edible creations with us on Facebook.
Water
Sprinklers, pools, streams, rivers and lakes all await. Go out and play in the water this month but be safe! Also, learn how water con- servation can help us all. A small effort makes a big difference.
And stay in touch! Please go to our website at www.northstateparent.com to sign up for our monthly e-newsletter. This helps us grow!

Five Things You Can Start Doing Today to Raise a Motivated Learner By Dolores Smyth
Although we are each, in our own ways, adapt- ing and adjusting our lives to the current situation, we also know that we are all in this together! Our families and communities depend on us for proac- tive optimism, renewed energy, and, of course, tan- gible hope for the near and far future. Stay safe!
Best wishes,
And the dedicated NSP team members
As we edge towards the final days of summer, North State Par- ent magazine has worked hard to bring you a variety of arti- cles to match the season. Look inside to learn more about:
Education
On the Cover: Schooldays are returning! For many of our North State students, schools are welcoming kids back into the classrooms with COVID-19 safety measures in place
and a healthy dose of cautious optimism. This school year will look different, but children are still anticipating a return to connection and learning with the same eagerness as always, whether they will be learning on campus, as homeschoolers or in the digital classroom. Let’s support them with a genuine positivity about learning. Children are constantly observing and looking to you their parent while they form their own opinions and thoughts. Your child will be much more excited about school and willing to learn if they know you are equally excited about it as well.
What will your child’s school policy be this fall regarding COVID-19? We’ll try to inform you the best we can. Things are changing rather quickly.
