Thai is an abstract painter and Shasta College alum who works and lives in Los Angeles, California. Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Thai draws inspiration from human experiences and the tensions found in daily life.

Ms. Mainhard’s use of dense colors combined with loose mark-making expresses the pull she feels to the untouchable and what can be seen. Her artwork expresses the interplay between the spiritual and the real, and the components that make up our lives that are more tangible than we realize. Thai strives to capture a fragment of what life could look like in an ideal world without any intentional representation of physical objects. In her opinion, that is what makes abstract art so powerful.

Thai is a 2016 graduate of Shasta College who is represented by galleries in Los Angeles, New York, Boston, Naples (Italy), Geneva (Switzerland), and London (England).
