Kids’ Day Costume Parade

October 19 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

It’s back!  The children and parents of Siskiyou County are invited to attend the 7th annual Kids Day Costume Parade, on Saturday, October 19, 2023 in downtown Yreka. This is a redo of the original Kiwanis Kids Day Parade that ran for over 50 years in Yreka- some parents and grandparents might remember!
The day will begin with the annual costume parade. Starting at 10:00 a.m., parents and children will assemble at the Jackson Street School front lawn in costume, to be pinned by Kiwanis with participant ribbons for judging.
At 11 am sharp, the parade starts and with the help of Yreka PD and the Yreka HS Key Club, kids & families will parade up Jackson to Broadway, and up Miner St. The parade ends at the Yreka Elks Lodge, where a free hot dog lunch awaits the kids.
Lunch at the Elks Lodge is followed by an awards ceremony where 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place costumes, Most Creative and Best Group winners are announced.
Come out and have an early glimpse of what princesses, superheroes, ghosts and goblins might show up at your door on Halloween!!
This Event is jointly sponsored by Yreka Elks Lodge #1980, the Kiwanis Club of the Siskiyous and the Siskiyou Modoc Regional Department of Child support Svcs. The entire community is invited to come out rain or shine and join us for this fun annual event.
Text or Call Rebecca at 530-905-0293 if you can volunteer to help assemble lunch, donate money for the costume prizes, or can help the event in any way. Come out and celebrate our local Youth and Families!
