Girls Dig It – Archeology Camp (Session 2)

June 26 @ 8:30 am - 3:00 pm
Event Series Event Series (See All)

Girls Inc. of the Northern Sacramento Valley is proud to offer Girls Dig It, a week-long summer camp designed to introduce girls ages 10–13 to the fascinating and interdisciplinary world of archaeology. Bridging science and the humanities, this hands-on program explores topics such as history, anthropology, ethics, and the role of women throughout time.

Campers will engage in a variety of activities—from analyzing artifacts and interpreting historical documents to exploring how cultural heritage shapes our understanding of the world today. The program includes exciting field trips to local sites like Redding Rancheria and opportunities to meet professional archaeologists and historians.

Girls Dig It empowers young participants to ask big questions about gender, culture, and the past while developing research, communication, and critical thinking skills. Supported by funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the National Science Foundation, this camp also helps girls discover potential career paths in archaeology, history, and STEM fields.

Enrollment is limited, and scholarships are available. For more information, visit http://www.girlsincnsv.org.

This camp is offered twice this summer.

Limited to 15 spots per session!
