A free monthly publication
Chico Scan-a-thon 2025 is a month-long community event inviting the public to bring in their vintage printed photos to be professionally scanned and archived. Scanning/digitizing your photos preserves them for future generations and protects them from deterioration or potential damage in the event of a natural disaster, such as fire or flooding.
Bring your shoebox full of snapshots, and we’ll scan them with a high-speed, high-resolution scanner. You’ll receive the digital files on a thumb drive, and if you’d like, you can share your photos in a public exhibition created from the scanned images contributed by the community.
Photos can be brought into the gallery at any of the following times.
There is no limit to how many photos you can bring, but scanning sessions are first-come, first-served, with a limit of 15 minutes per session if others are waiting.
Scanning is free! (Donations to 1078 Gallery and the North Valley Community Foundation’s Wildfire Relief Fund are greatly appreciated.)
Workshop Feb. 12, 6-8pm: The workshop will cover topics including photo storage and organization, digital editing tools, and photo-based art projects.
