Air-Conditioned Spaces in Shasta County

August 9 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Beat the heat by visiting one of Shasta County’s designated air-conditioned public spaces. While temporary Cooling Centers are not currently open, several year-round indoor locations are available to help residents stay cool during hot weather.

Available Air-Conditioned Spaces Include:

  • Anderson: Frontier Center (seniors only) and Shasta District Fairgrounds Front Office
  • Burney: Circle of Friends
  • Cottonwood: Cottonwood Library
  • Redding: Good News Rescue Mission (open 24/7) and Reciproka Community Center
  • Shasta Lake: Shasta Lake Library

Hours vary by location.

When temporary Cooling Centers open, information will be posted at ShastaHeatSafety.org, shared through local news outlets, the Shasta HHSA Facebook, Instagram and X (Twitter) pages, and available by calling 211, visiting 211norcal.org, or calling the Extreme Temperatures Information Line: (530) 229-8882.
