Exhibit themes include: The Loss of Grizzlies\, The Truth about\nGrizzlies\, and Bears in our Imagination. \nBear In Mind includes a section created especially for children with a simulated bear den\, colorful books and puppets\, and special text panels to help children understand the story of the California Grizzly and American Black Bear. Interactives include a map showing a timeline of the grizzlies’ demise; an activity comparing and contrasting grizzly size\, scat\, and paws; a bear image sorting game; and an animal track activity.

Discover festive décor\, rich history\, and the warm spirit of tradition at Patrick Ranch Museum. \nThe Patrick Ranch Museum is dedicated to enhancing people’s understanding and appreciation of our community’s rich agricultural heritage through the presentation of its collection\, rotating exhibits\, and interpretive displays. \nThe Museum is home to the 1877 Glenwood Farmhouse\, Visitor Center\, and Gift Shop\, as well as multiple barns\, a priceless collection of artifacts\, and is located on a beautiful 28 acres between Chico and Durham. The interior of the Glenwood Farmhouse is furnished with Hester Patrick’s furniture\, antiques and artifacts. The Museum continues to evolve as we bring more of Hester Patrick’s collection to public view and receive additional exhibits and artifacts. \nThe Patrick Ranch Museum was bequeathed to the Far West Heritage Association by the last ranch owner\, Hester Grimm Patrick\, and her husband William Garrison Patrick. They championed the promotion\, documentation\, preservation\, and appreciation of its history. \nPatrick Ranch Museum opened to the public in 2010 and now offers a variety of volunteer and educational programs.

From toddlers to teens\, all ages are welcome to dig their fingers in the soil. \nAt From The Ground Up Farms\, we started a nutrition education and garden program for Butte County Home Schoolers and toddlers in order to provide a safe space to teach our children about nutrition and growing food. There is a new garden related project every week. The parents run this program and From the Ground Up offers the garden space and supplies. Sensory Hour is an event for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders and/or Sensory Processing sensitivities and their families to experience the Museum at their own pace. Our goal is to make Sensory Hour a comfortable environment for individuals with a variety of sensory differences. Our staff and volunteers will be on hand to answer any questions you have\, and if necessary\, direct you to a quiet space that provides a chance to cool down and take a break. Families are welcome to stay the remainder of the day to explore the rest of the Park.
