Learn about his famous Twelve Labors as we view the Hercules constellation shining overhead.\n\n\nExperience the beauty of the night sky over Horseshoe Lake under the new moon\, where the absence of moonlight allows the stars to shine even brighter. Join us for a guided hike through the oak woodlands and open meadows of Upper Bidwell Park\, with Horseshoe Lake as our scenic backdrop. Each hike features themed storytelling\, weaving together myths and legends about the constellations with explorations of nocturnal plant and animal adaptations. To ensure a full experience and to protect local wildlife\, please leave pets and strollers at home. While all are welcome\, these hikes are designed more for adults. We recommend bringing a Star Finder app and a headlamp with a red-light option to preserve night vision. Discover festive décor\, rich history\, and the warm spirit of tradition at Patrick Ranch Museum. \nThe Patrick Ranch Museum is dedicated to enhancing people’s understanding and appreciation of our community’s rich agricultural heritage through the presentation of its collection\, rotating exhibits\, and interpretive displays. \nThe Museum is home to the 1877 Glenwood Farmhouse\, Visitor Center\, and Gift Shop\, as well as multiple barns\, a priceless collection of artifacts\, and is located on a beautiful 28 acres between Chico and Durham. The interior of the Glenwood Farmhouse is furnished with Hester Patrick’s furniture\, antiques and artifacts. The Museum continues to evolve as we bring more of Hester Patrick’s collection to public view and receive additional exhibits and artifacts. \nThe Patrick Ranch Museum was bequeathed to the Far West Heritage Association by the last ranch owner\, Hester Grimm Patrick\, and her husband William Garrison Patrick. They championed the promotion\, documentation\, preservation\, and appreciation of its history. \nPatrick Ranch Museum opened to the public in 2010 and now offers a variety of volunteer and educational programs.

Please note that this is a working farm with dirt pathways and uneven ground in places. Please wear proper footwear and be aware of farm equipment moving about & courteous to our field crew. \nPlease do not bring dogs to the farm. We have livestock and roaming chickens and would appreciate it if you did not bring your furry friends on your visit.

They will utilize the tactile dimensions and versatility of fiber art to capture and imitate the textures of the world around us. \nThe show will include quilts\, smaller than 24” wide; painted\, woven\, macrame and textured art works; and photos and paintings showing texture and fibers. \nThe event is sponsored by the Tehama County Arts Council.

DESCRIPTION:Bear In Mind: The Story of the California Grizzly uses striking images\, informative text\, memorabilia\, a variety of historical and scientific objects\, and hands-on activities to engage visitors of all ages. \nOver the centuries\, the relationship that Californians have had with the bear is one of dualities – expressed in fear and fascination. Although extinct in the state\, the grizzly is a central character in California’s history. “Bear In Mind” is an exhibition that tells the compelling story of one of California’s most beloved and feared animals. Exhibit themes include: The Loss of Grizzlies\, The Truth about\nGrizzlies\, and Bears in our Imagination. \nBear In Mind includes a section created especially for children with a simulated bear den\, colorful books and puppets\, and special text panels to help children understand the story of the California Grizzly and American Black Bear. Interactives include a map showing a timeline of the grizzlies’ demise; an activity comparing and contrasting grizzly size\, scat\, and paws; a bear image sorting game; and an animal track activity.

Discover festive décor\, rich history\, and the warm spirit of tradition at Patrick Ranch Museum. \nThe Patrick Ranch Museum is dedicated to enhancing people’s understanding and appreciation of our community’s rich agricultural heritage through the presentation of its collection\, rotating exhibits\, and interpretive displays. \nThe Museum is home to the 1877 Glenwood Farmhouse\, Visitor Center\, and Gift Shop\, as well as multiple barns\, a priceless collection of artifacts\, and is located on a beautiful 28 acres between Chico and Durham. The interior of the Glenwood Farmhouse is furnished with Hester Patrick’s furniture\, antiques and artifacts. The Museum continues to evolve as we bring more of Hester Patrick’s collection to public view and receive additional exhibits and artifacts. \nThe Patrick Ranch Museum was bequeathed to the Far West Heritage Association by the last ranch owner\, Hester Grimm Patrick\, and her husband William Garrison Patrick. They championed the promotion\, documentation\, preservation\, and appreciation of its history. \nPatrick Ranch Museum opened to the public in 2010 and now offers a variety of volunteer and educational programs.
