SUMMARY:Art Classes for Children - Summer Schedule
DESCRIPTION:*Summer classes are offered once a week\, either Wednesdays or Thursdays.  Sign up any time!  Class size is limited\, allowing individual attention. \nStudents will learn the basics of drawing and painting with an emphasis on fun. The first two weeks of a given month are focused on drawing and the later weeks on painting. Students work with various mediums\, including charcoal\, watercolor\, tempera\, colored pencils and watercolor pencils. More advanced students can work in acrylics\, pastel\, oil and collage mediums. Form\, perspective\, shading\, cartooning\, and painting methods are discussed as part of instruction. Biographies and works of master artists are also discussed during classes. \nSupplies are included for beginner and intermediate levels. There is a one-time $25 registration fee for new students. DESCRIPTION:Discover the myths of Scorpius\, and Sagittarius as we explore how these constellations were woven into stories of heroes\, monsters\, and gods.\n\n\n\nExperience the beauty of the night sky over Horseshoe Lake under the new moon\, where the absence of moonlight allows the stars to shine even brighter. Join us for a guided hike through the oak woodlands and open meadows of Upper Bidwell Park\, with Horseshoe Lake as our scenic backdrop. Each hike features themed storytelling\, weaving together myths and legends about the constellations with explorations of nocturnal plant and animal adaptations. To ensure a full experience and to protect local wildlife\, please leave pets and strollers at home. While all are welcome\, these hikes are designed more for adults. We recommend bringing a Star Finder app and a headlamp with a red-light option to preserve night vision.
