Come dressed in neon\, all the glow you can wear\, and bring your flashlight as you hunt eggs at dusk.\n\nDon’t let the Spring weather get ya down; this event is rain or shine!\n\nGates open at 7:00 pm with fun games\, booths\, and vendors.\nAt 7:45 pm our 1-5 egg hunt begins followed by our egg hunt for youth 6 and up at 8:15 pm.\nWe are going later to ensure that the fields are dark enough for the eggs to glow.\n\nThis event fills up fast\, don’t wait to get your ticket! Stay safe from scams! Official tickets are only sold through Redding Recreation.\n\nHow does it work?\n– The cost is $9.00 per child for non-residents and $8.00 per child for Redding residents.\n– NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AT THE DOOR. ALL TICKETS SHOULD BE PRE-PURCHASED AT REDDINGRECREATION.ORG\n– Parents do not need to register for entry but each child attending must be registered! Each registered child includes wristbands for two parents or guardians per age group; additional guests will require a General Admission wristband ($2.00\, purchased online)\n– Youth are divided into age groups and spread out over the park to allow plenty of space for hunting.\n– Look for the sign with your youth’s age. With recent research indicating colony losses of up to 60% in California—and with the tri-county region playing a critical role in bee breeding and agricultural pollination—this training is both timely and essential. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOffered in collaboration with the Honeybee Discovery Center\, the Honeybee Biology & Beekeeping Workshop is a hands-on\, three-session training designed for both new and returning beekeepers. \nHoneybee Discovery Center expert trainers Emily Helton and Jerry Hightower bring extensive field experience in commercial beekeeping\, colony health\, and sustainable hive management—ensuring participants gain practical\, research-informed skills they can immediately apply. \nHosted by Butte College The Training Place at the Glenn Center\, this 6-hour program combines engaging classroom instruction with live field demonstrations to build foundational skills\, strengthen hive health\, and increase honey yield.

SUMMARY:55th Annual Shasta College Spring Plant Sale
DESCRIPTION:Gardeners will find thousands of plants for sale\, including annuals for bedding and cut flowers\, perennials\, herbs\, succulents\, and a wide variety of vegetable starts. Shoppers can also browse trees\, shrubs\, California native plants\, and houseplants. Many selections are unusual or hard to find and have been chosen specifically because they thrive in the Redding area. Students have also grown a diverse selection of Certified Organic vegetable plants. \nVisitors can explore beautiful plant displays highlighting many of the varieties available at the sale. The event is organized and staffed by the Shasta College Horticulture Club\, and all plants are sustainably grown by students. Proceeds support the Shasta College Horticulture Program and student scholarships. \nMembers of the California Native Plant Society\, Shasta Master Gardeners\, and Shasta College horticulture students and faculty will be available to answer gardening questions and offer advice.
