DESCRIPTION:Little explorers can let their curiosity run wild at Nature Tots! Kids ages 1–5 (and their grown-ups!) can meet turtles\, rescued frogs\, a wise old tortoise\, Edgar the raven\, and a few fabulously fluffy friends along the way. Add nature crafts and a Bidwell Park stroll\, and it’s one wild morning.  \nNature Tots is a special time for families with children ages 1–5 to gather and enjoy an hour of fun\, engaging activities with our instructor. Join us on Saturdays for an animal visit\, storytime\, singing and dancing\, an art project\, and a nature walk through our beautiful park. \nOnline registration is required\, and space is limited to 20 children. Each child registration includes one accompanying adult at no additional cost. \nThis is not a drop-off program and children must be accompanied by an adult who can assist them as needed. We hope to see you there!

DESCRIPTION:Celebrate International Observe the Moon Night\, NASA’s annual worldwide invitation to look up and explore the Moon together. \nJoin the Mount Shasta Stargazers at the Living Memorial Sculpture Garden for an evening of telescope viewing beneath the Mount Shasta sky. Visitors of all ages can get an up-close look at the first-quarter Moon\, including craters\, ridges and the dramatic terminator line where light meets shadow. \nBring the family and enjoy: \n\nMoon viewing through club and member telescopes\nBinocular viewing\nFriendly help for first-time stargazers\nViews of Venus shortly after sunset\nA chance to see Saturn later in the evening\nA welcoming\, family-friendly introduction to astronomy\n\nDress in layers\, as September evenings can be cold and windy. Bring a chair and a red flashlight if you have one. \nPlease note: The site has no water\, restrooms or trash service\, so plan accordingly and pack out what you bring. \nChildren should attend with a parent or guardian. \nThe Living Memorial Sculpture Garden is located on the west side of Highway 97\, approximately 13 miles north of Weed and 0.9 mile north of A-12.
