DESCRIPTION:Mark your calendar for Good News Rescue Mission’s 28th Annual Stuff the Truck Holiday Food Drive! \nThis year’s Stuff the Truck aims to collect enough canned food and frozen birds to provide roughly 1\,000 families in need with the supplies needed to prepare a traditional Holiday meal at home. This year\, due to soaring inflation we anticipate the need being significant. To assist the roughly 1\,000 families for both major holidays\, the Mission has set a goal to gather 1\,000 turkeys and all the canned food goods needed to make complete holiday meals. \nCan’t make out to the store? You can give online and we’ll do the shopping for you.

DESCRIPTION:Divine Sundays is excited to bring back the 3rd Annual Chico Day of the Dead Festival! Bringing together cultural education and community celebration\, the Day of the Dead Festival is the perfect place to spend the afternoon. After 2 years of hosting this lively cultural event at the Barn at Meriam Park\, we have outgrown the space and moved to the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds Pavillion! With this move we expanded our vendor attendance to over 100 local makers\, artists\, and sellers\, with 20 of those making up a diverse lineup of food stalls and trucks. We are also making space for a large dance floor to accommodate 3 live musical groups ranging from Mariachi\, Grupo Norteno\, and Cumbia. As well as 5 dance groups showcasing Folkorico and Aztec Dancing. \n“Though Día de los Muertos is traditionally celebrated in Mexican and Hispanic communities\, its themes of remembrance and love are universal.” said Lucia Mercado\, owner of Divine Sundays.  \nEvent Highlights: \n\nCommunity Altar – Add photos\, notes\, food\, or anything else that reminds you of your loved ones. Plus\, get a custom poem created by typewriter.\nLowrider Car Show in collaboration with Chico Impalas’s Car Club – To Register Your Ride Contact @verocastro530 \nOver 100 Vendors & Food Court with about 20 food trucks and stalls\nFacepainting by Girl with a Brush\nPhoto Booth by Shutter Gold Photo Booth\nScavenger Hunt to educate the community on the cultural significance of Day of the Dead with prizes while supplies last.\nLive Mural Paintings\nBar for Sip & Shop\nPet Friendly\, please keep your pets in your arms or on a leash.
