DESCRIPTION:We are excited to share the news of Turtle Bay Museum’s latest exhibit\, Famous Artists Student Art Show: A Walk in Nature\, on display now through April 30\, 2026.\n\nEnjoy an exhibition of works created by kindergarten through 8th grade students in the Famous Artists Portfolio art education program. This art show is a celebration of the diverse perspectives\, boundless imagination\, and artistic talent of students from around the area.\n\n\nThe exhibition highlights the diverse artistic talents of local students\n\n\n145 pieces are on display from TK through 8th grade student artists\n\n\nArtwork was inspired by lessons available in Turtle Bay’s Famous Artists Portfolio Program\, a free art resource for local students and community members\n\n\nThe Famous Artists Portfolio Program is led by volunteers at Turtle Bay and includes over 70 portfolios\n\n\nThose interested in learning more about the Famous Artists Portfolio program can attend a spring orientation on March 4 from 4-5pm at Zubie’s Classroom in the Turtle Bay Museum. DESCRIPTION:Calling all History Seekers!  The History Keepers & Seekers Rendezvous is a gathering of people presenting the history of Tehama\, Shasta\, Butte\, Colusa\, Glenn\, Lassen\, Plumas and Siskiyou Counties. Are you fascinated by the collecting and interpreting of artifacts\, learning about the past or interacting with other history buffs? Then this event is for you. \nEnjoy a family-friendly affair offering: 1) a traditional flag-raising ceremony; 2) historical & genealogical groups\, libraries and museum booths; 3) rustic/restored classic trucks; 4) a Valve Cover Races for the kids; 5) live entertainment by Pastors David & Brian\, the Northstate Ukulele group\, and the Mountain Messengers; 6) the newly expanded Nelda Babb Birds of a Feather exhibit; 7) history authors: Steve Schoonover – ‘Before Ishi’ / Nancy Leek – kid-friendly biographies; 8) a local fiber arts group demoing spinning/weaving skills; 9) a Chew Family exhibit – a tribute to Chinese immigrants; 10) lastly\, a fundraiser barbecue lunch of hamburger\, cheeseburger and hot dog meals. \nThe desire of the TCM Board is that the people of Tehama County and surrounding areas have a wholesome and enjoyable\, family-friendly experience getting acquainted with the past. \nSo\, mark your calendars!  Museum admission is free but donations are always gratefully accepted.
