DESCRIPTION:Since 2012\, Horse Powered Reading® has been giving hope to struggling readers by offering equine assisted services and training for students\, teachers\, and equine professionals around the world. \nMajor’s Place Horse Powered Reading® program helps children increase confidence\, promote self-efficacy\, foster connections\, learn valuable reading skills \, carry new skills into the regular classroom. Through the use of horses\, chilren will engage in activities and games that will help promote phonemic awareness\, decoding\, vocabulary\, fluency\, and comprehension. \nHorse Powered Reading® integrates social-emotional learning with academics; thus allowing students see and experience reading with their entire mind\, body and emotions by creating metaphors for the skills involved in reading. \nStudents interact with horses from the ground\, while using toys and props to identify obstacles and learn five critical reading skills\, all while engaging in fun activities to make learning fun! SUMMARY:Nature Kids: A Summer Camp
DESCRIPTION:Nature Kids will be offered in Cedar Grove. Give your children ages 3-10  the opportunity to experience Hiking\, Child-Led Learning\, Natural History\, Nature Journaling\, Watercolor\, Jewelry Making\, Picnic Reading\, and more. Nature kids is taking interns (free of charge) ages 11-15. Nature kids will be offered by Amanda Newman\, a Chico local with a degree in Child Development and has taught in Early Education for over 7 years. Currently\, she teaches at Mighty Oak Nature School (for 3-5 yo) in Cedar Grove. Ratio will be 1:6 with 2 interns accepted weekly.  \nDaily\, Weekly and multi day rates are available.  \n*$50 non-refundable deposit required for registration.
