There’s always something magical about holiday parades and light displays. This has become a tradition for many families and is also a great way to get into the holiday spirit.
This December, the North State holiday season is in full festive gear. With everything from parades and tree-lighting ceremonies to festivals and self-guided light tours, there is something for everyone!
Butte County
Biggs Christmas Tree Lighting & Street Fair
Sunday, December 4, 4-8 pm. Historical Downtown Biggs. B Street between 6th & 7th Streets.
The entire block will be blocked off and filled with local street vendors. The street fair begins at 4pm, with an Ugly Sweater Contest at 6pm before the tree lighting at 7pm. Visit facebook.com/projectbiggsgroup for more information.
Oroville Christmas Tree Lighting
Friday, December 2, 4-9 pm. 1440 Myers St.
The fun starts downtown with the community Christmas tree lighting in Union Square. There will also be pictures with Santa, cookies, carolers, and carriage rides for $5 per person, ages three and older. Visit downtownoroville.com for more information.
Oroville Holiday Parade of Lights
Saturday, December 10, 6-9 pm. Historic Downtown Oroville.
The parade begins at Huntoon and Montgomery St. and travels to Lincoln, Bird, Downer, and back to Montgomery, ending at the Municipal Auditorium parking lot. Come early to enjoy dinner and shopping before the parade begins. Visit visitoroville.com/parade-of-lights.html for more information.
Paradise Tree Lighting and Truck Parade of Lights
Saturday, December 3, 5:30-7:30pm.
Tree Lighting 6pm. Terry Ashe Recreation Center, 6626 Skyway.
The parade starts at 6:30, proceeding from Pearson Road up the Skyway, turning around at Holiday Shopping Center. Organizers ask that everyone enjoy the parade from the parade route and not park in the ACE Hardware lot. For parade route information, visit paradisechamber.com.

Willows Winter Fun Day
Saturday, December 3, events start at 9 am.
The day starts with the Willows Chamber Craft Faire at 9am at 255 N. Tehama St. The parade begins at 6pm, proceeding through downtown Willows to Downtown Plaza and ending with a tree lighting at the Downtown Plaza. Grass Valley Donation Day Parade
Saturday, December 17, 10-11am. Downtown Grass Valley.
This community holiday event is sponsored by the Grass Valley Ladies Relief Society and invites local school children to march through the streets of Grass Valley to collect food donations. Visit gvlrs.org for more information.
Nevada City Victorian Christmas
Sundays, Dec 4, 11, & 18, 1:30-6pm; Wednesdays, Dec 7 & 14, 5-9pm.
Main Street, Downtown Nevada City.

Redding Lighted Christmas Parade
Saturday, December 3, 6pm. Downtown Redding.
This year’s parade theme is “All Aboard the Ornament Express!” Streets around the parade loop start closing down at 3 pm. Parking is available in the new downtown parking garage until 5 pm. City of Shasta Lake Christmas Tree Lighting

Corning Hometown Christmas Parade
Saturday, December 3, 5:307pm. Solano Street; beginning at VFW on Yolo St., going Eastbound on Solano Street.
This year’s theme is the Polar Express, so wear your pajamas, bring some hot cocoa, watch the parade and then see the tree lighting at City Hall, where Santa and Mrs. Claus will make an appearance. Trinity County
Hayfork Christmas Festival and Light Parade
Sunday, December 4, 3 pm. Hayfork Park.
