Grandparents & Relative Caregivers Support Group

If you are struggling to care for a child who has experienced trauma, you are not alone. Raising relative children who have experienced trauma is hard. It helps to talk about issues with other caregivers who are going through or who understand the same things.

The Mount Shasta Community Resource Center offers online and in-person support groups where grandparents and relatives who are caring for children can share their experiences in a non-judgmental group.

Facilitator, educator and consultant Giovanna Taormina helps group participants connect and find support for their challenges. “The support group for caregivers encourages transparent communication and offers a welcoming environment where each individual’s voice is valued,” Giovanna says. “It provides a chance to express and learn from challenges, celebrate victories and receive unwavering support. When relatives step into the primary caregiving role, they bring a valuable combination of wisdom and experience to these children’s lives.”

Weekly, in-person and online (small group) ongoings support groups. Helpful, friendly, resources shared. Make new friends! Call (530)926-1400 for more information.
