Pamela Newman, Publisher of North State Parent magazine and seasonal Family Resource Guides, loves to garden, travel to new places, hike and spend time with her four sons when she can catch up with them! She has been promoting and nurturing programs for children for over 30 years. She also volunteers much her time to create events that benefit families and is an advocate for and active participant in the whole North State community. Stacey is the editor of North State Parent and a writer for the magazine. She also compiles our weekly e-newsletter, creating graphics and writing copy to spice it up and keep it interesting. She has two beautiful grown sons and two gifted and talented grandchildren. In her spare time, Stacey loves to sew for herself and others, take long walks with her husband and organize stuff. Kate is one of our sales team members as well as a writer. She’s our This is Tehama columnist. Kate enjoys reading, hiking, time with her family and with her pets. Most importantly, my job allows me to still be ‘Mom,’ which is the best job in the world!" Joann has two grown boys she is very proud of. She enjoys the outdoors and is grateful to live in such a beautiful place with so much to do in our own backyard. A few of her favorite activities are stand up paddle boarding, hiking and snowmobiling with friends. Since moving to Mount Shasta from the Bay Area, she’s fallen in love with the community and is always happy and excited to connect with new people. “After joining the North State Parent team, I’ve been impressed with the steadfast desire and commitment of the magazine to educate and inspire. Brenda Spring is a vibrant retired grandmother who embraces life with enthusiasm and creativity. She dedicates much of her time to nurturing the bond and creating lasting memories with her 2-year-old granddaughter, who lights up her world.
A passionate gardener, Brenda finds joy in cultivating her green thumb. Her garden is not only a sanctuary for her but also a source of inspiration. She loves Pickleball and traveling with her husband, exploring new places, creating new adventures and making lasting memories.

Marilyne works hard to keep the office records straight. She keeps delivery notes on where thousands of magazines get delivered and expertly performs other important record keeping tasks. She is the proud mother of 2 grown boys and 4 grandsons, an avid kayaker and a poet. She is deeply involved in her community through her participation in local women’s groups and charitable organizations. In her spare time, she makes beautiful quilts and loves to find new avenues of artistic expression. “I have tried to make the work that I do make a difference.
