Dear Readers,
This month is North State Parent Magazine’s Anniversary month!
When I started the magazine, there were very few other publications around and none that circulated widely and were aimed at family life. I started the magazine in 1993 for the purpose of sharing positive educational resources within our north state boundaries and to focus on the arts and children and unique learning opportunities in our region.
Curious parents could find out about unique parks, fieldtrip suggestions. library story times, school open houses, mom and pop businesses that care and so much more!
While we remain true to our original vision, we ask the community to share this vital publication. As electronic marketing/ media has taken over the world, we must remember who our local pillars of information are.
*When our readers tell other businesses/services why they should be working with us, this helps us grow!
*When readers share our website, social media channels or a copy of a physical North State Parent publication with others, this helps us grow!
* When you let the school your child attends know how important we are in their lobby, this helps us grow!
If our magazine has been helpful in some way, please drop us a line!
Fun reading this month: Our collection of Mamapreneurs! Each year in October we feature dedicated North State women who are running their own business while raising a family – no easy feat!
As we celebrate National Women Small Business month, please offer these featured gals an extra cheer of support. Previously featured Mamprenuers can be found on our website. Just search “Mamaprenuers.”
Autumn is here and it’s a lovely time of year to visit a farm with your family. We have some special places listed in our annual Harvest Happening section on page 14-15 that will help you decide on where to spend time together this fall. I love apple cider pressing, harvesting pomegranates and picking pumpkins straight from the vine!
Thank you for reading,
Pamela and the North State Parent Crew
