First Day Hikes is a National program featuring thousands of events and this is the inaugural event for Castle Crags State Park!

Please join us for a FREE hike to get the year off to a healthy start!

A flat 2.5 mile hike guided by a knowledgeable State Park Ranger

✓ Hike through the trees and over the creeks along the Flume Trail

✓ Please come prepared for the weather with warm clothes, sturdy shoes/boots, water, rain/snow gear, and poles if you use them.

✓Families are encouraged and trail is appropriate for kids

✔ Unfortunately dogs are not allowed in State Parks

✔The Mount Shasta Trail Challenge will kick off with this event and you will be able to get your Passport and first trail completed!

✔Free hot coffee and cocoa provided January 1, 2025 11 am-1 pm Park at entrance parking lot, 20022 Castle Creek Road
