From your fingers to your toes, climbing works muscles you didn’t even know you had! Climbing walls mimic the thrill and challenge of scaling a cliff while providing training on the importance of safety and teamwork when headed out to real rocks.

ScienceWorks Hands-on Museum; Ashland. Offers a “Geologic Climb through Time” outdoor climbing wall. Visitors of all ages can enjoy a hands-on/feet-on experience traversing through a fossil record from Precambrian to present day, learning Earth’s history by discovering fossils from different time periods. Rare Air Trampoline Park; Redding. Offers a new 20×20 sq ft climbing wall for all-ages indoor fun. Assisted by staff, ages 5 yrs & up climb using a belay system (ask about weight requirements). Shasta Rock Club; Redding. Redding’s only indoor rock-climbing gym offers fun & challenging routes for climbers of all abilities, sizes, shapes & ages. From grades V0 to V8; V9 & V10 routes will be added as climbers achieve that level. A route-setting team sets creative new routes each month. Also offers classes (including “Bouldering 101” for new climbers), youth camps, a Summer Climb Club for ages 6-17 yrs  & guided outdoor climbing trips. 2325 Athens Ave. (530) 691-4505.
