Audition: Day In The Death Of Joe Egg; Redding. This March, Shasta College is producing Peter Nichols’ dark comedy A Day in the Death of Joe Egg, a hilarious & moving look at love & marriage, reflecting the playwright’s own experiences of caring for his son. Directing Change Film Contest; California. Statewide contest open to middle & high school students, & young adults up to age 25, in association with an adult advisor from a school, college, club or related organization. Participants create 60-second films about suicide prevention & mental health. The school, program or organization is eligible to win prizes, recognitions & prevention programs. Deadline is March 1. Read Aloud Revival 31-Day Challenge; Nationwide. During the month of January, kids are encouraged to read aloud every day for at least 15 minutes. They can read to anyone: Grandpa, neighbor, sibling, cat, goldfish, stuffed animal, action figure – what matters is they read out loud, every day. Kids ages 1-17 who read at least 25 of the 31 days in January can enter for a chance to win a prize. Reg/info at

U.S. Kids Cover Contest; National. This year’s theme is “My Imaginary Creature.” Presented by Saturday Evening Post Society Inc. to support teachers & encourage creativity & art for children.
