Gaumer’s Jewelry, Museum and Lapidary is a family-owned business that is an exciting place to shop and visit. You’ll be amazed by beautiful displays of unique jewelry, ancient fossils, polished gems, exotic minerals, Native American artifacts, and a historic gold-mining exhibit.

art-0801-gaumers2Gaumer’s Jewelry was officially opened in 1967 by John Gaumer and his parents, Al and Mabel Gaumer. But the family’s interest in rock hunting and jewelry making really began in the late 1940’s when they participated in many successful “rockhounding” trips and had a small lapidary workshop near their home.

This winter, Gaumer’s Jewelry will celebrate their 50th year in business. What a wonderful journey it has been!  The store is now owned by John’s oldest son, Bill, who has over 20 years of experience in designing custom jewelry. Bill also has a passion for rock collecting and for running the saws that cut open rocks to yield their secrets within.

Some days you can find all the Gaumers working alongside their professional crew to offer the highest quality customer service. Besides custom jewelry and onsite quality jewelry repair, Gaumer’s sells decorative fossils, gem carvings, beautiful rocks and minerals, and wonderful gifts for all ages and occasions.

Children enjoy visiting Gaumer’s, especially the black-light room where the rocks glow in the dark.  Free educational tours are offered to school classes and youth groups by appointment.

Gaumer’s is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. In December, the store is open on Saturdays until Christmas. You can find pictures of the storefront and museum on their website and on Facebook.

Visit Gaumer’s and prepare to be amazed!

Red Bluff loves Gaumers! That store has been there since I was a tiny little girl getting a big treat of picking out a thunder egg with my friend Lori Green!
