SunPower by Alternative Energy Systems

Fueled by the desire to deliver professionally engineered and installed solar power systems, Alternative Energy Systems (AES) was founded in 2003 by Lance McClung and Tim Hamor. AES has served the Chico community as the locally accountable leader in cost-effective solar installations ever since.

SunPower is the global leader in manufacturing the world’s most powerful and reliable solar panels. Alternative Energy Systems began offering SunPower products in 2007, and in 2013, AES became known as SunPower by Alternative Energy Systems. The growing relationship between these two powerhouse enterprises means the best products, warranty and service available. More importantly, it means the very best customer experience.

Most recently, SunPower by Alternative Energy Systems proudly announced the opening of their Solar Design Center, one of only two in the country. People interested in solar can visit the center to see how solar works, and to learn from hands-on experts exactly what going solar means and how it can save money.

The company is changing the way people buy solar. The Solar Design Center is a comfortable, non-pressure environment where potential clients can do initial research, make first contact with the expert team, and educate themselves about how solar can be beneficial. Eventually clients can discuss expectations, design, and the commitment and savings their project will contain.

SunPower by Alternative Energy Systems offers the best solar products on the market, ranging from residential solar to agricultural and commercial projects. The company also provides unparalleled experience in installation, project management and customer service, along with an unbeatable warranty.

The AES “Solar Pledge Program” for the club’s Chico facility was boosted by a grant of $25,000 from PG&E, representing the largest single donation for a solar project north of Sacramento. In 2013, the company led the system installation on two shade structures at The Arc of Butte County’s Oroville facility, which serves adults with disabilities and their families.

“The one thing that truly defines us is our culture and the amazing people that have partnered with us in our mission,” shares SunPower by Alternative Energy Systems co-owner Lance McClung.“ The team members of our company are some of the best in the industry, and are all motivated to provide the very best in customer service and experience.“

Co-owner Tim Hamor adds, “We care about the product on each customer’s roof and are dedicated to delivering an exceptional solar experience through the life of the system. And let’s not forget that solar is a great investment. Solar power provides protection from power rate increases, boosts a home’s value, and creates a positive cash flow … and it’s clean energy!”
