Getaway Spotlight: Mount Shasta Resort

“We haven’t been anywhere together, without kids, for over ten years or maybe more,” I sheepishly told my girlfriend Gayle, “except for maybe out to dinner and a wedding or two.” Gayle and I were out jogging on one of our weekly routes together when I confided in her. I think I saw her jaw drop as she repeated, “Ten Years! No way! Rich and I try to get away together at least once a year now that Bella is nine. We look forward to our time together.”

You can’t beat the view of Mount Shasta.” Then she offered: “It’s your turn! If you book a getaway for your birthday, I’ll watch the kids for you!” “That sounds great!” I responded before she could change her mind with her offer to watch our three rambunctious boys!

The Mount Shasta Resort is a perfect quiet getaway in upper Northern California, offering some of the most beautiful landscape imaginable. The resort’s craftsman style chalets allow seclusion, and are truly a home away from home, complete with full kitchens, dining and living rooms, fireplaces, private decks and forest or lake views.
