In “American Portrait,” as the symphony plays a composition by Chris and Dave Brubeck, a film will be shown depicting 102 striking images by (and of) photographer Ansel Adams.

As the symphony plays “Our Town” by Aaron Copland, photographic works of North State youth, and other regional images (including ariel views shot especialy for the film) will be shown.  Additionally, special guest Greg Manuel of Redding, winner of the 2011 Young Artist competition, will be performing with the Symphony at the Chico and Redding shows.
